About Stress
When you feel that you are in danger, pain or under threat, your brain gives you all the symptoms and responses to help you fight or flight. As a result you end up stressed and miserable.
90 percent of illness may be stress-related. Two classic examples are stomach ulcers and migraine. Lowering stress level is likely to promote a longer, healthier, and more active life.
Stress tends to make its worst effects felt not immediately but some time over the next two years or so. Stress is often personality-specific. Different people respond to stress in different ways and levels. Some handle stress more easily than others.
